Blazer: sartorial pick-me-up of choice

Sartorially speaking, I’m fairly proud of what I’ve accomplished today. I’m not usually one to wear a blazer for no reason other than something more formal than not. But today I kissed a blazer and I liked it, a corduroy one no less  – which I think is healthy to do every now and again. Earlier I wrote about facing the perils of corduroy, and I think a blazer is a solid place to start battling those. The obvious happens when you wear a blazer: you inherently begin to (possibly) feel more successful, sophisticated, and just generally gung-ho than you probably are, which is down right refreshing sometimes. The blazer: sartorial pick-me-up of choice.

I also really like the idea of pairing something slightly more take-me-to-your-sister’s-wedding with something casual, like a plaid shirt of sorts.

AND:

The not-so-late (phew) but very great Ryan Gosling also, and I use ‘also’ loosely, recently did a great job of wearing a blazer (/suit) which I felt like I should acknowledge, because I’m sure he needs it. I have a respect for someone who can wear a bold check pattern that well – and he happens to be Canadian, much like myself – so, brother from another mother if you will. His suit is Gucci for those interested and brave enough to possibly attempt following in the foot steps.

Ta ta for now.
